I feel like Rise/Sunbreak will always have something that will bring us back to it. Especially if Wilds doesn't bring back most if any of the new Switch Skills Rise/Sunbreak added. Stuff like Sacred Sheath for LS, Surge Slash Combo for GS, Insta-Block for Lance (aka Adept Lance), Dodgebolt for Bow, etc. Not to mention Risen Elder Dragon levels of crazy fights. Edit: 100% craftable decorations over RNG Decos

About your musings on how hard Rise low rank is for newbs. I was a newb when it foirst came out and I don't usually play action type games (I play turn based RPGs and strategy games) and yes Monster Hunter Rise low rank was EXTREMELY difficult for me. It's the only game I've ever rage quit and slammed my controller over. It took a couple months to "get good." I don't think MH vets realize how hard these games really are, the combat mechanics are so complex and intricate it's like learning a musical instrument. I've since played finished to completion MH World/Iceborne and other action RPGs like Elden Ring, Wo Long Fallen Dynasty, Dragon's Dogma 1 and 2 and nothing comes close as far as difficulty than those first few weeks playing Rise, not even Iceborne or Elden ring.

Why only 60 fps? It's easy to get 120 or even 165 on potato pcs.

I also struggle with diablos shoulder tackle... which why main charge blade... thinking of testing out the gunlance in rise also planning to use gunlance in Gu rise and world

Uno if you're still playing stories I suggest picking up fishing plesioth parts along with every monster you come across...

I'm doing a fresh pc playthru too after getting everything on the switch then taking a year or so break. Feels like a year anyway. I laughed a bit as a bow user because I could somehow still dodgebolt certain monsters really well because I had to farm the heck out of them on the switch. Like the Rajang beams or that tail double spin from Nargacuga. I just wish I didn't have to farm for decoration materials all over again. It was easier when more people were playing so I could just easily find a online hunt. Solo hunting and not getting what you wanted after 10 or so attempts is a tad draining. Dangit I still love this game though so I'm gonna do it anyway.

But, the Frontier team was folded into the mainline teams after Frontier shut down servers in like early 2020, and then the console and mobile teams were also conbined during Sunbreak's development, so now there is just the singular team. 17:38 Mained Charge Blade all through World, but had to move it to secondary for Rise due to its massive phial nerfs and took up Switch Axe, only to return for Sunbreak.

uno can you please try out mods in world i want you to try some of the custom quests, they’re really fun and challenging (I didn’t want to be ‘formal’ for this one. But I’m still the real diablos and OW.)

I finally soloed this bastard! And here’s how I did it: For stages 1 and 3, I used a switch axe. Basically, I equipped temporal and rocksteady mantles, and then cheesed these stages the same way I cheesed fatalis, and by that I mean I spammed the ever living shit out ZSD. Then, for stages 2 and 4, I used a sticky build with safi’s aquashot, that way I could dps it without having to worry nearly as much about tornado spam. With this strat I (barely) beat it with a kill time of 27’39”41’’’. I am so happy that I finally slayed it after over 50 failed attempts, but to say the very least, I am NEVER putting myself through that again. That was some BULLSHIT!!!

Last time I struggled so bad with a monster was in 4U with Shagaru Magala lvl 140, what an amazing hunt.

AFAIK the evade window is not only for dodging, it help you to do the counter more easily as it affect the timing/window when you trigger the counter.

Here's an easy way to guarentee that you can beat Extreme Behemoth! Step 1: Install a one shot mod. Step 2: Spit on its corpse, and swear to never do battle with this god forsaken atrocity again. Edit: I forgot the third and most important step: cope ;-;

Hi there, I'm a Lunastra runner, I use her as my training monster and I'm most comfortable with most weapons on her. If I'm not mistaken, currently I hold world record TA Wiki Speedrun on Lunastra with Switch Axe. Here's what I would love to share You don't need Wind Pressure Negation at all, when you attack, your attack animation gives you Flinch Free 1 and Wind Resistance 5 on heavy/momentum attacks (all Switch Axe, Longsword, Greatsword, Hunting Horn's attack, Gunlance upswing/lunging thrust, Charge Blade's axe mode attacks, Hammer's Powercharge, Dual Blades during Demon Mode, Insect Glaive attacking with Orange extra, Bow's lunging melee attack) and Wind Resistance 2 on lighter attacks (Gunlance normal pokes+shell, Hammer light attack, CB sword mode, Insect Glaive without Orange extract, etc.) So when Lunastra uses Hellflare, you can use any of your attack to "parry" the wind pressure from her, then you can either counterattack or heal with Max Potion/Astera Jerky. During the Hellflare, Lunastra has 2 blindspots that you can stand on and completely avoid the flame bursts, being in front of her face slightly tilted to her right side, or right next to her left leg at 7 o'clock angle with her head being at the 12 When she uses Heatblast (reeling back and then spray heat forward in a cone), you often try running away from her which is the wrong counterplay, as the fire burst outward from her means if you're in mid range you'll for sure take the hit, and it deals double damage to targets further away so you will take massive damage if in long range. The correct counterplay would be to position yourself either right under her, or in between 2 of the 3 puddles she drops while reeling back (there will always be 3 and there will always be 2 puddles having safespots between them), and doing a Wind Resistance attack (see section above) Lunastra's Crescent Flamebreath always go from her left to her right, so you can use that knowledge to either headsnipe with your right-side attacks, or buff yourself/doing whatever attacks on her legs while she performing the attack. When flying Lunastra will locks into a target, fly right above them and do attacks, since the attacks are used at 45 degrees angle, if the target (you) stand completely still you can just use that oppotunity to sharpen, reapplying buffs, etc. Lunastra also get staggered on the head very easily, if you staggered her head while she's airborned, she will be Downed for 15s instead of usual 8, which is a huge openning for attacks If you can't attack the head too often due to it being a high level danger zone, you can always play safe by attacking the legs (any leg works), the damage might be smaller but after 2 flinches it will help you get a mechanics Topple, which will reduces her Flame barrier by 1 level. Lunastra will often stand in place and charges, if you attacked her enough during it, she will counterattack with one of her moves (depending on your position when she counterattack, but most often it'd be the right claw swipe). If you failed to trigger the counterattack and she successfully charged, her Flame barrier will be increased by 1. When Lunastra's at Flame barrier lv2 (has alot of sparkles around her), the next time she's supposed to be attempting to charge, it'd be a Hellflare instead. So be mindful of your position in accordant to her state Another way of getting the Flame barrier level down is to Stun her AFTER you flinched the head 2 times, so running no Slugger and using attacks with low Stun values also works in the beginning of the match. When Elder Dragons are enraged, their Barrier charging speed will increase significantly, for Lunastra means she'll attempt to charge more often. In this specific quest Lunastra always starts at Barrier lv1, and upon enrages (via wall bang) she will immediately get to 2, which increases the difficulty and attack tempo by significant amount compared to Lv1 or Lv0. So I'll advice you try learning her without Wallbang or Palico, to slowly get used to her tempo acceleration I posted a Hunting Horn run on my channel just now, you can watch it for reference, although I have no idea how to play this weapon so please ignore my performance lol

Im not 100% but i think you can flash pod her out of the nova. On HH its a little harder since there isnt any slinger bursts or quick shots. But that's how i typically "dodge" the nova whenever im using Lance

People used to wish for Lunastra's return because it was forgotten since Freedom Unite, but I bet everybody hopes it won't come back ever again now lol

My first weapon was insect glaive, and it still is my main. I just like its manuverability because you can launch yourself in the air and dodge most attacks while dealing damage. Kinsect helps a lot, too :)

I have hunted fatalis with a defender GS, I even hunted Extremoth with jumping Ecliptic Meteor, but that thing (Tempered Lunastra) I fear. I'll give it like a week or two before I attempt this as well. Lol
